Directions for an AR-10 with a standard hand guard.
1)
The barrel nut must be replaced with an AR10T barrel nut and lock ring.
2) If you have a muzzle break it must be
removed in order to remove gas block and barrel nut.
3) The simplest way to remove the muzzle break is to have it machined off, if it
is a pressed and pinned model. If it is a threaded and pinned/welded model then
the weld and pins must be removed.
4) Remove gas block and hand guard.
5) Remove barrel nut.
6) Install new AR10T barrel nut and lock
ring. Tighten to spec (80ft.lbs. approx.). Insure gas tube hole is lined up
properly.
7) Slide new FF Tube over barrel.
8) Slide gas block on.
9) Start gas tube into hole
10) Start threading FF tube.
11) Push gas block down while threading FF
tube.
12) Tighten FF tube.
13) Tighten gas block in position.
14) Install break.
*Note* A barrel that had a pressed on break can be threaded to adapt a threaded
break which must be pinned and the pins welded over.
